Christopher T. McRae

Christopher McRae and David Metcalf established McRae and Metcalf, P.A., in 1997 to serve the construction industry. Over the last 25 years, McRae & Metcalf has grown and is recognized as one of the premier firms in the country for construction and surety related matters. McRae & Metcalf represents many of the largest construction and surety companies in the United States, with a focus on Florida construction projects. Mr. McRae is AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell and has been named among Florida’s Legal Elite multiple times.

Mr. McRae graduated from Brigham Young University in 1986 and received his law degree from Stetson University College of Law with honors in 1990. He is admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Northern, Middle and Southern Districts of Florida and the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals. He has litigated cases in almost every state, federal and administrative court in this region with numerous multi-million-dollar verdicts.

Mr. McRae has also written numerous articles on current developments in construction and surety law and is a frequent lecturer at seminars on Construction and Surety related matters. He also has been appointed by the Governor to serve on the Florida Commission of Ethics and was asked by FSU Law School to develop and teach a course on construction law as an Adjunct Professor.

Mr. McRae was born in Jacksonville and comes from a family that is actively involved in the construction industry. Before law school, he worked for a large construction firm in the field and later in the office as a contracts administrator. Mr. McRae is a fifth generation Floridian who is active in his church and community. He and his wife are the proud parents of three children, two grandsons, and one granddaughter.
