David Metcalf is one of the co-founders of McRae & Metcalf, P.A., having established the firm in 1997. He concentrates his practice in the areas of Construction Law, Public Contract Law, Fidelity and Surety Law, and Business Law. Mr. Metcalf also focuses much of his practice to transactional matters such as joint ventures, purchase and sale of businesses, private and commercial loans, commercial real estate transactions and other business matters. He has been AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell since 1997.
Mr. Metcalf earned his bachelor’s degree from Florida State University with a triple major, graduating with honors in 1983, and received his juris doctorate with honors from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law in 1987. He is a member of the Florida Bar, the State Bar of Georgia and the State Bar of California (currently inactive). After beginning his practice in San Francisco in 1987 with one of the country’s largest law firms, he returned to his native Tallahassee and was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1990. In 1993 he was admitted to practice in the State of Georgia and has practiced in both Florida and Georgia since that time. He is also admitted to practice before the United States Circuit Court for the Eleventh Circuit and the United States District Courts for the Northern, Middle and Southern Districts of Florida, and the Middle and Northern Districts of Georgia.
Mr. Metcalf is a native Floridian, an avid wildlife photographer and the proud father of two daughters.
